Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award after scoring five goals in the division in September.

The Welshman returned to action for the Reds’ U23s after injury and wasted no time in getting his tally for the season up and running as Neil Critchley’s team maintained a 100 per cent start to the campaign.

Wilson scored both goals in a 2-0 victory at West Ham United and went one better with a perfect hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield four days later.

The 20-year-old is one of eight players to be shortlisted for the monthly accolade, with the winner to be announced by the Premier League next Friday.
