There are usually goals when Liverpool meet Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Ahead of this afternoon's game at Anfield, club statistician Ged Rea takes us through the pertinent pre-match facts and figures...

In the 15 Premier League meetings between the clubs, there have been 56 goals scored at an average of 3.73 per game. The Reds have netted in all but two of those fixtures, at an average of 2.3 goals per game.

In the total of 33 league meetings, Liverpool have notched 72 times.

In five of the last seven league clashes, at least one of the teams has scored three times. A total of 30 goals have come in those games.

Roberto Firmino, who netted in Liverpool's 4-2 win over Palace in this season's corresponding fixture, has scored in each of the Reds' last two matches. The Brazilian has never netted for the club in three successive league games.

In that win at Selhurst Park last October, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip became Liverpool's first centre-back pairing to score in the same league game for the club since September 1968, when Ron Yeats and Tommy Smith netted against Leicester City.

Jürgen Klopp's side have lost just one of their last 24 home league games, recording 15 wins while drawing eight times in that period.

The Reds are four goals short of recording 50 at Anfield in all competitions this season. This will be their 22nd home game in league and cup in 2016-17.

Liverpool are six points (66) and six goals (69) better off in the Premier League than they were at the end of last season.
