Nathaniel Clyne and Ragnar Klavan are expected to join the list of players unavailable to Jürgen Klopp for Liverpool’s meeting with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

However, the manager has indicated that captain Jordan Henderson will face the Cherries after he missed Tuesday’s Champions League win over Manchester City due to suspension, and Roberto Firmino is also likely to feature despite a minor neck issue.

“Unfortunately, I think, not 100 per cent sure, that Raggy felt a little bit [something] muscle-wise. And Clyney [is], probably, out. [He felt an injury] in training the day after the [City] game,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com.

Should Clyne and Klavan be ruled out, that would force the boss to make do without six first-team players against Eddie Howe’s side, with Adam Lallana (muscle), Joel Matip (thigh), Joe Gomez (ankle) and Emre Can (back) also sidelined.

Henderson, though, looks set to return to the Reds’ midfield.

“I have four senior midfield players I can play now [and] Jordan played outstandingly good in the last few games… he has the freshest legs in the midfield so I would be silly if I did not use him,” Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.

Meanwhile, Howe will be without Adam Smith and Junior Stanislas (both knee) for the trip to Anfield, but former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe could play after missing last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace due to illness.
