Schalke starlet Max Meyer admits there is a “50-50” chance he will leave the German club this summer, opening him up to a potential move to the Premier League.

Meyer, the Germany U21 captain who has also made four senior appearances at international level, is heading into the final 12 months of his contract at the Veltins Arena.

Tottenham have been long-time admirers of the attacking midfielder and Mauricio Pochettino is continuing to search for extra attacking options, while Meyer is also well known to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Meyer admits that with contract negotiations having stalled between Die Konigsblauen and his advisors, he is thinking about potentially having to move.

Asked about his future on ZDF at the weekend, Meyer insisted “there have been no further talks”.

When asked whether he wants to extend his contract, the 21-year-old responded: "Why not? I can imagine both. The odds are 50-50. "
